Thank you for your interest in publishing with Internationalism.

To publish with Internationalism, please write to us at publish@internationalism.co.in. The subject of your email should include the format (eg. Discussion Paper/Policy Analysis/Academic Article/Opinion Piece/Policy Report) and the tentative title of your work. Your email should also include a short bio of yourself (adding a LinkedIn Profile link is recommend (if)).

We encourage and accept submissions around the year. However, due to the large volume of submissions that we receive, we might take a few days/weeks to respond to your submission.

Internationalism FORMATS

We invite you to contribute to one of the following formats listed below:

i. SAJIL Academic Forum - Blog

An academic blog is a short structured analysis/interpretation of current events or trends in the researcher’s area of expertise directed at a wider reading audience. It should be comprehensible to the general reader.

As a rule, endnotes or footnotes should be avoided. Hyperlinks must be used for citations.

The indicative length of a blog for SAJIL Academic Forum is between 800 to 1,500 words subject to the themes of SAJIL Academic Forum. Check out the themes at https://www.southasianjournal.org/themes

ii. Legit - Blog/Opinion Piece

An academic blog is a short structured analysis/interpretation of current events or trends in the researcher’s area of expertise directed at a wider reading audience. It should be comprehensible to the general reader.

An opinion piece is a short analysis or critique in an opinionated manner, which is recommended to be comprehensible to the general reader.

As a rule, endnotes or footnotes should be avoided. Hyperlinks must be used for citations.

The indicative length of a blog/opinion piece for Legit is between 800 to 1,500 words subject to the themes of Legit. Check out the themes at internationalism.in/legit

iii. Legit Originals - Short Article

An academic blog is a short structured analysis/interpretation of current events or trends in the researcher’s area of expertise directed at a wider reading audience. It should be comprehensible to the general reader.

As a rule, endnotes or footnotes should be avoided. The citation style for publication in Legit Originals is the OSCOLA style of citations.

The indicative length of a short article for Legit Originals is between 2,500 to 4,500 words subject to the themes of Legit. Check out the themes at internationalism.in/legit.

iv. Global Law Assembly Review - Policy Analysis

A policy analysis blog is a short structured analysis/interpretation of current events or trends in the researcher’s area of expertise directed at a wider reading audience. It should be comprehensible to the general reader.

As a rule, endnotes or footnotes should be avoided. Hyperlinks must be used for citations.

The indicative length of policy analysis for Global Law Assembly Review is between 800 to 3,000 words.

v. Discussion Paper

A Discussion Paper would be similar to extended journal articles or extensive policy research papers. It should be of high academic quality and may be based on secondary or primary research.

Endnotes or footnotes should be provided and these should conform to ORF’s style.

We follow the ISO 690 Citation Guidelines. Also, kindly refer to the FAQ at the South Asian Journal of International Law Page to understand more about citing under the ISO 690 Citation Style.

The indicative length of a Discussion Paper is between 4,000 to 10,000 words inclusive of endnotes/footnotes (without references).

We publish Discussion Papers in our academic and policy books based on the area they are affiliated to:

  1. South Asian Review of International Law  - International Law and Relations

  2. Legit Global Review - Constitutional Law (National/Comparative/Global), Jurisprudence, Legal Education & Administrative Law

  3. Global Relations and Legal Policy - International Law and Relations

Considering the quality of the discussion papers, our editors and researchers recommend if the author(s) of the work would like to participate and present the paper in our Colloquiums throughout the year and the Global Law Assembly Conference, our Flagship International Law and Relations Event.

REVIEW AND PUBLICATION PROCESS

i. Blogs, Short Articles and Policy Analyses - SAJIL Academic Forum,  Global Law Assembly Review & Legit

Drafts are reviewed by a panel of editors in the Review Team of South Asian Journal of International Law/Legit, which can include a Research Analyst/Junior Research Analyst from Internationalism Research. The reviewers’ comments will be shared with the author for any revisions required.

The final draft will be cleared for publication by the web editor after it has been copy-edited and checked for plagiarism.

Please note that the web editor retains the right to refuse a submission at any stage of the review and publication process.

ii. Discussion Papers

Drafts are reviewed by at least one Research Analyst/Junior Research Analyst, a member of the Review Team in South Asian Journal of International Law/Legit, and one or more outside referees (if possible). The reviewers’ comments are shared with the author for any revisions required.

The final draft is then copy-edited, and the author is apprised of any editorial changes that the editor deems fit. The final draft will be cleared for publication by the editor after it has been copy-edited and checked for plagiarism.

The editor may at their discretion refer any paper to the Core Team of Internationalism Editorials for a second opinion. The editor retains the right to refuse a submission at any stage of the review and publication process.
